A trip downtown in Torino...a cat cafe and Egyptian Museum! September 30, 2016

Colin and I took a walk to MiaGola or Cafe Miaow in Turin, the first cat cafe in Italy.
The word miagola means meow, but also just to communicate.

You can tell the workers LOVE these cats! Six of them roam the cafe and many times are just lounging.
See the guy on the very top shelf?

There was a piano there, many places for the kitties to perch and play, and
lots of pieces of artwork made by visitors to the cafe.

Then we walked over to the piazza which was hosting a kids' science fair with booths and demonstrations. Perfect day and venue for something like this.

One booth was just about the rowing clubs in town.

Royal Gardens of Turin, Giardino Reale. Beautiful day.
We decided not to take a tour of the Musei Reali yet. Another day.

The Royal Palace of the Savoys
Modern statues of bulls (Torino, get it?) out front leading to the piazza

Il Museo Egizio in Turin, the Egyptian Museum
Amazing stuff. No photos.

Probably the coolest room of all.

Went to dinner across the river from us, down a street towards Moncalieri.
GREAT restaurant called Castello. Not sure why we haven't been here before. Up on the roof.

Nice fall evening on the roof with wine and my two favorite guys.

Many glasses and a purpose for each.
I had spaghetti with clams. AMAZING.
