Eataly!

Torino is the home to the original Eataly!
Great Italian food market with several restaurants.
There are three in Torino, one in Chicago.

 Prawns!

Seafood cases at Eataly!

More seafood cases...swordfish head too!

Colin and I ate along the river at the
Borgo Po, a different restaurant.

And the saga of the lavasciuga!
Washer-dryer.
It washes AND dries in the same cycle if you set it properly.

However, here are the controls.
When it's all done, the clothes are steaming hot
and wet, but when you take them out they dry out.
Hmmm....

Most Italians hang their clothes dry and don't fuss with the dryer. But then they iron everything.
No thanks.

Our weekend trip to Venice!

With all of the work, heat and setting up the apartment,
Colin didn't really get to see a lot of Italy.
So he and I decided to take a train trip there
and stay overnight.

Nice seats on the train. 4 hours, we were able to read, eat and chat.

A cruise ship docked near our hotel by night, the water taxis by day.

 Always on the phone....

Wonderful man playing violin...

Some great canal views.

Wait...where are we??

Maybe the silver guy with the squeaky voice knows...

 Walking around in Venice....

 Piaza di San Marco

The Bell Tower in Piazza San Marco.

St. Mark's Basilica

 Doge's Palace

Who's the man in the man-bun?

Eventually, we found it! Rialto Bridge. Originally built in the 1100s but rebuilt in the 1500s because it collapsed TWICE under the weight of lots of people! Yikes.

I love pretty windows

And doors...

Have I mentioned it was 90 degrees???

Which mask to buy?

Of course it was still 90 degrees out! Time for some Schweppes Lemonade. Yum.

 Back to Milan, then home...
