Random observations...

I have been wondering this for a while...how does an Italian diet? I mean, there's a lot of walking but I definitely don't see many heavy folks here. And it is impossible to try and do a low carb diet!
All you can eat is....bread, pasta, cheese and mostly just ham or prosciutto. Once in a while a little sliced veal - vitello - and tuna - tonno.

In the grocery stores, the alcohol is CHEAP! Grand Marnier is 12 euro...limoncello 6...I've seen wine here for two! And in the stores they don't refrigerate much. Eggs...cheese...other things, even pizza in a take out place, not refrigerated. Wow. But they do drink a lot of bottled water, natural or gassata...in restaurants. They give you a bottle to share, like wine. And you pay for it!

Also, did you know that they have special products for you to use with the bidet...
for your undercarriage! At the hotels we have stayed, they have a special towel
and special soap for that!

Italians do not use clothes dryers. Everywhere you go, rich or poor, small or large houses, you see laundry hanging outside. Wonder what they do during the winter.

Lots of graffiti around here. All over the city....

And everyone eats SO late! Restaurants don't even open until 7:30 or 8 on average. So you end up being finished with dinner at 10pm! However, they do start work in the morning at 9. Which works for me... until 6.

Also, motorcycle and scooter riders are NUTS around here....scooting around rows of cars, running lights. Crazy.
Many Italians have dogs...and they walk their dogs...mostly small to medium sized...plus they bring them in stores or restaurants too!  I did see a Newfoundland yesterday...big guy. First off, they don't use dog collars....always wearing harnesses instead with their leashes. And here in the city, they pee and poop on the SIDEWALK. So you have to watch where you're walking!
Going out to walk around again! Talk to you soon!
